25 September 2021: Launch of the SFIA.NZ website
From Daniel Merriott, Managing Director of Digital Skills Agency and Principal Consultant:
For some time I have hoped to have a NZ focussed site for SFIA users to act as a centre hub for information. I'm really excited to see this come to fruition.
This site will provide access to the SFIA content in an easily searchable format, plus access to guidance, training materials, and information on key tools used alongside SFIA, such as SkillsTx. I've already found from testing myself that this is the easiest way to get the information I need.
We have added alongside the SFIA content the ability to add notes (e.g. "also see this skill when considering xyz activity" or "this skills has seen a significant change from the previous version of this skill". We will also leave comments enabled on most of the site so that other users can add their thoughts and any other useful notes.
This site is built on Zendesk Guide which has more functionality potentially available than we currently use. We may in the future expand the functionality to include a full community discussion board if there is demand, but for now we're happy to have this site live. We recognise that there is a significant amount of knowledge we could add to this site which will be an ongoing process, and we fully expect to have to make adjustments and refinements to make it as useful as possible as more people use it and provide feedback.
Whilst the team at Digital Skills Agency will be promoting this site as a tool to support our clients, our intention is to make this site available to all NZ users as this is part of our mission: to make SFIA and frameworks like SFIA available and accessible to NZ users.
In the near future we may look to find additional sponsorship to help with the running and future expansion of this site. In the mean time I will acknowledge our Digital Skills Agency team as the delivery partner providing expertise and insights, and our sister company Good People as the original sponsors who in addition to providing resources to make this possible have put many hours to help get this site up and running.
Cheers,
Daniel
