Q&A
-
Question:
- Cyber framework - when will that be ready?
-
Answer:
- If you are referring to the updated mappings to NICE for example, they are already availabl,e or will be imminently.
-
Question:
- My first reaction, and admittedly not having contributed to the work, is the list of generic attributes is quite destabilising compared to 5 before which was into the magic number of 7 elements +/- 2. I suppose the migration of attributes from under the old attributes to be full attributes annd slide with arrows is helpful to migrate. Will that be published on the website if not done already?
-
Answer:
-
In summary, to move from SFIA 8 (or earlier):
- If you had Business Skills level 4, you can assume level 4 in each of the SFIA 9 behavioural factors as a starting point, and refine from there whether there is a need to be more granular (e.g. to identify a coaching need in a particular behavioural factor.
- If you're looking for the diagram from slide 6 showing the migration of the behavioural factors identified in the glossary in SFIA8 to SFIA 9 behavioural factors, we're not sure that image has been published yet. If that would be useful we can work with the Foundation to add to their website (e.g. as part of Convert glossary of behavioural factors to web pages.)
-
In summary, to move from SFIA 8 (or earlier):
-
Question:
- Is the expectation that a user/staff member should have a level in each of these behavioural factors under the new business skills?
-
Answer:
- In SFIA 9, the new generic attributes are Autonomy, Influence, Complexity and Knowledge.
- Business Skills has been migrated to the behavioural factors and doesn't form any of these generic attributes in the same way.
- If you wish to adopt the behavioural factors, you could choose to apply some or all of them to roles or individuals as you like. Consider them optional enhancements to enrich your SFIA application.
